Job overview

Your role will be to carry out Business Testing processes, which are consistent with the L&G Test Policy and Strategy, to ensure the quality and efficiency of testing.

Main responsibilities

  • Conduct test reviews (including Static testing) of Business Requirements, to identify any untestable business requirements
  • Input into the generation of appropriate Business Test coverage, led by the Test Analyst/Senior Testers/Test Managers
  • Perform Test scripting and execution as agreed in the Stage Test Plan
  • Raise defects and retesting defect fixes when deployed to the test environments
  • To ensure business requirements are satisfied
  • Provide effective updates and communication to Senior Testers/Test Managers and Business users to support the smooth delivery of the test activity (including Progress Reports, Defect Status etc.)
  • Comply with the agreed test methodology and standards to ensure good governance and record keeping in line with Legal & General test principles and commercial interests
  • Ensure all tests have our customer at their core and align with L&G’s commitment to treating customers fairly

Desired qualification

  • 5 GCSES Grade A to C or 9-4
  • 2 A-levels (Maths or Computer Science) or equivalent study or experience grade A* to E or a similar qualification

Training provided

You will be enrolled onto the award-winning Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship programme for Software Tester (Level 4) for typically around 24 months.

You will achieve one internationally recognised vendor or professional qualification.

Knowledge Modules Vendor as follows:

  • Knowledge Module 1: Testing Tools (for Level 4 Software Tester Apprenticeship)
  • Knowledge Module 2: Testing Concepts (for Level 4 Software Tester Apprenticeship)

Professional Qualifications as follows:

  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level
  • BCS Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing

Working week

Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm

Salary

£18,600 per annum
